Composite fillings are a tooth-colored alternative to traditional mercury fillings.
The Problem:
The Solution:
Tooth-colored composite resin fillings can make old fashioned and unattractive silver fillings a thing of the past. Composite resin is a metal-free, tooth colored quartz-like material. Dr. Patel blends shades to create colors nearly identical to the natural tooth. The final restoration is virtually invisible.
Advantages:
Composite fillings are more than just attractive. They are environmentally non-toxic because they contain no mercury. Composites strengthen the remaining tooth and help protect it from fracture because they bond directly to the surface of the tooth and do not require the severe “undercut” of a mercury filling. Many of our patients elect to have their mercury silver fillings replaced before they break, or simply to enhance the health and appearance of their smile. The result: beautiful, strong, and healthy teeth.
